Certified Vendor - eGCV

eGCS is the premier certification for vendors that provide services to recover, reuse and/or recycle technology assets along with a verifiable data destruction process. The eGCS certification is awarded to designate “Best Practices” are documented and are strictly followed by this Vendor. This certification will let your clients and potential clients know you have proven business practices that focus on the unique requirements of not only managing downstream technology but also assuring a client’s data will be destroyed.

IATRDD has Certification Consultants available to work directly with your team to develop, document and implement process that may be required for Certification. Just let the IATRDD Certification Auditor know you would like to engage these services. *membership required

The Vendor process will focus on these Key Process Areas (KPA’s)

Clear documentation for the KPA’s
Equipment recovery process review
Chain of custody documentation
Hard Drive and other Data Media management
Security / locks / seals / documentation / separation of duties / same day destruction / certificate of destruction / serial number capture / serial number verification / fail-proof destruction process
An easy to follow documented audit trail
Employee hiring practices and screening
3rd parties utilized
Recovery process for reuse in client’s enterprise (Reverse Logistics)
Brokering process
Disassemble and recycle
Downstream recycling vendors

The review addresses each of the Key Process Areas (KPAs) identified above and will result in a report with recommendations turned over to the IATRDD certification board for a final decision.
